Over the past decade, renewable clean energy has seen rapid development across the world with total installed capacity of wind generation reaching 320 GW and photovoltaic 140 GW by the end of 2013. This trend is likely to accelerate in the foreseeable future, especially in China where the government has committed to the goal of clean energy contributing 20% of all energy consumption by 2030. Worldwide, renewable energy is increasingly becoming a major or dominant power generation source in traditionally fossil fuel dominated power systems. High penetration of renewable power, due to its inherent uncertainty and intermittency, will have a profound impact on all aspects of power systems, including planning, operation, generation, transmission, distribution and end user consumption. It is also increasing the need for energy storage and significant level of end user participation in managing volatile generation, e.g. demand side response. This Special Issue will focus on the latest development and research in power network planning under uncertainty.

This Special Issue solicits original work on Sustainable Power Network Planning that must not be under consideration for publication in other venues. Full papers are solicited for reviews. Submission Format and Guidance

All submitted papers must be clearly written in excellent English and contain only original work, which has not been published by or is currently under review for any other journal or conference. Papers must not exceed 8 pages (two-column, at least 11pt fonts) including figures, tables, and references. A detailed submission guideline is available as “Guide to Authors” at:
